Bent frame or deformed tank problem
« on: November 13, 2015, 03:33:15 pm »
Looking straight on at my 2014 690 from the rear, my license plate is sitting off to the right side. Left side is lower than right side. I replaced all the tank bolts with the Perrun kit. I looked over all the plastic parts and found no problem. So I had to add washers under the hand hold bolts on the left side to get it almost straight. I have less than 800 miles on this bike and most was your average easy off roading. The rear end has smacked into the usual hidden rock or tree root, but nothing fearce enough to bend the frame. I'm thinking maybe the tank is deforming considering I ride from sea level to 13,000 feet and gas expands significantly. Maybe I permanently warped the tank.

Oh, I also broke the break lever spring

Thoughts anyone?

No thoughts on what you are seeing but I don't believe fuel expansion is a problem as the tank is vented.

Vented tank, good point. I'm stumped...
