no offense, but if you'r paying $200 for a tire (the D908) and running it on pavement for 60 miles every day, you'r flat out throwing your money away..  nothing will wear a knobby (or semi-knobby) tire more then a lot of pavement.  Why not get a pair of Shinko 244's at one quarter the cost?  they last pretty well, are nice and soft, decent offroad, fairly quiet and way smoother then the 908 on pavement..   The 244's are bias ply, (one reason they are so cheap) but as long as you don't intend to ride over 100mph for long stretches, it's a great little tire.   If I was commuting every day, I'd actually consider something like the Pirelli MT90AT Scorpions. About 30% cheaper then the 908, great pavement (dry or wet) handling, and not bad offroad.. just let out a few pounds of air.
