I may have got a hint at the answer yesterday.  Went on the Cheeseburger Run yesterday from Sam Houston National Forest to Yankee's Tavern in Carlos Texas.  Just after we started I hit a very deep rain rut, it went Kboom!  My inspection sticker plate curled under.  Need to wash the bike to inspect for tire marks.
