Seat Concepts! I've had some 500+ mile days & never had a hurt butt. (Not that the rest of me didn't). If you install the cover yourself I would suggest glueing it on with cyanoacrylate or use very few staples. The OEM pan is very hard & will break where you staple it.
Nut up or shut up!

Good to know.  I wish Seat Concepts offered a complete seat!

I've been using an air hawk since Oct and never had to much of an issue with it but I ride mostly off road and standing up. With that said I am going to do the UBCDR in early Sept. With some friends. I thought that doing that many days in a row on the 690 standing up might be rough so I bucked up and bought a seat concepts tall " I'm 6'6". " today I set out to just ride street and gravel roads. We did 325 miles and that seat is awesome. I am not a bit sore. I can't believe I waited this long to get this thing. I would highly recommend it for anyone who sits for more than 15 minutes at a time.

doniton2, did you get the new 690 tall? They didn't have a tall version for the 2012-15's when I got mine earlier in the year.

I see they have a new option that is an inch taller for '12-'15's. I'm thinking another inch of foam should be more comfortable.

I bought Sweet Cheeks to add some spare gas-carrying capacity, but it turns out it is an amazing seat enhancer (especially with the Airhawk from my Super Tenere on top of it). Feels like a big adventure bike seat,  yet allows me to stand on the pegs unhindered.
