Manual Cam Chain tensioner

Has anyone fitted one of these, like RR UK's version?

I know it's not a big deal, but with the stock hydraulic unit known to fail and also cause a lot of un necessary wear on the motor until the oil pressure builds, it probably good if someone who has done it provides a walk through of the process for others to reference.

I've done it.  I didn't take any pictures though.  I did it when I checked my valves.  I also installed a flatland skid plate when I was done so I can't comment on how much quieter my motor is now.

In fact it sounds like I have some kind of low end knock... that's kinda scary!

Hey bud, don't sweat the rod knock noise. With a flat aluminum skid plate they all sound like that. Try a piece of dense foam between the skid & motor then drill a small pattern of holes in the bottom of the skid to take the "ring" out. It works best to put a loud pipe on then you don't hear the mechanical motor noise.   :)
