Manual Cam Chain tensioner?
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:38:55 am »
Has anyone installed the manual Cam Chain tensioner - as seen here http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-690-chain-tensioner   ????
Is it necessary?

I did it.

Is it necessary, probably not.  It did make the bike slightly quieter but the aluminum skid plate made it much louder anyway.

Also it seems difficult to set properly.  I installed it while I did a valve check so I could visually check it.  Then after starting the bike up I re adjusted it.  The sound difference is slight, to me anyway, from loose to correctly tensioned.

It is very good. I read that feeling that I know what is new knowledge for me.
