KTM 690 Enduro R Wind Screen
« on: April 04, 2016, 02:53:00 pm »
I'm looking at this KTM 690 Enduro wind screen. Here is a link to it: http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-690-parts/ktm-690-enduro-parts/body?product_category=525
Has anyone else mounted this wind screen? How does it do with keeping the wind blast off of you at highway speeds? How about when you're off road, does it get in the way?

Thanks,

i have one , but haven't installed it yet.  i was worried about it being in the way also... i read another thread about them and 1 guy mounted his with dual-lock tape and says he hasnt had any problems with it at all on the dirt or on the freeway.  i'm going to try that before drilling any holes... i like the idea of being able to take it off

I have one on my '13 690.  It works, but I have never had a wind screen before.  I have been riding without for 50+ years, so have nothing to compare too.

I have one on my '14. Buzzed a little at first. I Ended up putting a couple of rubber fender washers between it and the cowl which stopped the buzz. Definitely pushes the airstream up the body a bit. Just did a extended 1600 mile trip through Mexico and it provided a good envelope of calm under 70mph (110kph)

Mine's been great.  Looks small, but is surprisingly effective.  Makes a big difference when I'm doing 80km/hr or above.
It's fine off road, too.  Not like you're going to get a face-full of windshield in your teeth when you start bouncing around on the bike in the rough/fun stuff.
