I haven't seen this part before. I too find the false neutrals more often than I feel I should. Mostly between 5 and 6 but less occasionally between 4 and 5. It is only under hard acceleration (which is pretty much all the time) that I find them. I got a hammerhead lever and that seemed to help but I also became more deliberate with my technique. Sometimes I still get sloppy (try to shift too fast) and still miss a gear.
I'm glad you found this and it seems to have fixed the issue. I'll definately get one for myself.
