I too have pivot pegs but I had a 15+ year gap in my motorcycle riding and during that time I rode a downhill mountain bike. The pivot pegs give you a little of that pedal rotation that works for me when moving around on the bike.

However, I'm thinking about wider set of pegs as giving up the pivot might be worth the extra leverage.
