Extra set of wheels.... for a 2014 with ABS
« on: December 05, 2014, 11:49:31 am »
I have been thinking about a second set of used wheels.... maybe the supermoto route.   Been trolling craigslist etc for a while to see what might be out there.
I think I found something from a 2009 690.   Other than the ABS issue, 'should' these work on the 2014?   Depending on if the wheels are 17's, or the stock size.... if 17's, then I might swap my current rotors with ABS onto the extra set.... use the extra set of rotors for my original wheels as I don't need ABS off road.
Still waiting to hear back from the seller with some pictures/condition/tires etc, but he was asking $800 (includes tires) - again, not sure of condition yet, hope to get pics by this weekend.

Anyone have any insight on axle/bearing sizing from a 2009 vs 2014?   "should' these wheels fit the 2014 (aside from the ABS issue)?

Appreciate any feed back.  I just can't come to grips on spending $1800 (plus wifey would have a major cow since I am also looking into getting a Wings exhaust - which she is not privy to yet!)

I'm sorry I can't answer the technical questions - see the microfiche and check part numbers. Also, fwiw I picked up a second set of 2014 wheels from somebody who was doing a sumo conversion for <$900 with brand new tires and everything. Put up a WTB, maybe in the ADVR Wunderfest.

I'm also looking to get a supermoto setup and would really like to see what you've done. Any pics? Details? The ones I've been looking at are around $1500. But those would be black warp 9s, Cush hubs, with orange hubs and nips, and tires.

I got 17s front rear with spacers, seals, bearings, and cush drive for $750, i got pilot power 2ct tires for $240. I reused the sprocket and rotors. I am in the middle of sealing my wheels so
They are tubeless-
