Rode 320 today miles mostly road and a little beach riding. From Port Arthur Texas we took hwy 82 from pleasure island and rode down the coast of Louisiana turned North on hwy 27 to Sulfur and then I-10 into Lake Charles and ate at Steam Boat Bills (shrimp, catfish and shrimp etouffee). There is a small ferry in Cameron on hwy 82 that we tried to take it but apparently is had broken down and was not operating today. we approached from the west and was told about a three hour delay, so after we ate we approached it from the east side headed back to Texas. That's when we found out it would not be running at all so we had to ride all the way from the coast back to Lake Charles hit I-10 and get to the other side of the ferry crossing headed back to hwy 82 and Port Arthur.
The hwy 82 is pretty much a straight run on the coast but it is a nice ride with usually light traffic. You could ride almost the all of the hwy 82 section on the beach if you wanted.
Side note: Gotta get the vibration lowered.
