To answer yer question about the tank straps bothering the thighs:
After my little 1600mi trip this past week I realized that no, they don't bother me. I squeeze my bike with my thighs when I'm on the road and stand up when I ride Offraod. Now if I were romping on a gnarly trail I'd definitely keep standing cuz those straps would probably chaff u up pretty good.
