Standard Oil Filters

Oil Filters

The bike takes two oil filters. One is the same among all model years and one changed in 2012 and newer bikes. Symptoms of an 2011 filter on a 2012 bike is low oil pressure/oil pressure light.

KTM Part Numbers
All model years need the "long" filter: 58038005100

In addition to the "short" filter:
2008-2011: 59038046144
20012+: 75038046100
Hiflo Filter Part Numbers
"Long" filter: HF155

"Short" filter:
2008-2011: HF157
2012+: HF651

Note: As of 4/10/13 the HF651 hasn't been found for sale anywhere. Word was that Hiflo would be moving that filter into production in March 2013 but it still hasn't arrived, at least in the USA.

Don't forget the other two wire mesh filters Rusty  ;) especially on the first oil change (found some good chunks of metal in mine upon break in)

Yeah Seabee, there's the one by the oil drain plug & the other is located bottom front side of the motor underneath the water pump. At least thats how the 2013 is. I assume your 08 would be too. I can try to E-mail a pic if need bee (sorry couldn't help the pun  :D )
