Dream 2nd Bike
« on: August 21, 2014, 03:40:12 pm »
I bought the 690 because I wanted the ultimate jack of all trades.  I don't NEED another bike...but I can't help what bike I'd really like to tool around on if I had more space in my garage/budget.

Here it is:

A British racing green Triumph Thruxton (only I'd want one with a bullet fairing).  I love these things.  I have no need for one.  It'd probably just sit in the garage most the time...but I still want one.

That's how I am, I can do everything on my 690. However, if I had the dough, I'd be rocking one of these too:

A Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX. Just seems like it'd be a sweet bike to gobble up tons of miles on in the off chance I actually had time to ride tons of miles at once. Lol. Plus that Guzzi twin sound is super sexy. Then when you figure it comes with all the stuff the 1200 GSAW does at 24K for only 15 or 16k, seems an easy choice.

I also liked to Moto Guzzi California; I don't know why, just the style...

Don't mean to be raining on you guys' picnics, but have you seen the 2015 KTM 1290 Super Adventure yet?  Just think about it Mickey......180bhp on an adventure chassis with all the electronic bullo-crappo you could ever imagine.  I'm getting mine next May.  It won't replace my 690e, but for the longer hauls.  Bwaaaaaaaaa.  What the duck does "Need" have to do with anything.  This is about "Want."

Fellow riders, remember your old uncle guymcflys rule of life....

"There is no such thing as too many bikes in the shed"

I only have 3 now tho...a Harley custom, a ktm 350 freeride, and the ktm 690.

But I have just been told of another bike I really feel I should buy.....😃

Btw, knowing my wife would have kittens if I bought the 690 i cleverly told her it was loaned to me by those nice people at the local ktm dealership😉. Aren't they kind?

Funny I've still got it
