the 690 is heavy enough!!!! that's why I chose it over a true "adventure bike. I still wanted to do some trail riding and couldn't imagine picking up a 600 pound bike should I lay it down. I had a hard time justifying $12,000 out the door for a meager ONE cylinder bike too at the time. I mean that's almost the same price for a nice litre bike!!!!  But after going through the break in period and riding my 690 I'm glad I went with her over something bigger.
