Wanna be.... here... I have been a dual sport fan for a while having owned a 2011 1200 GS adventure and a V-Strom before that.   I now own a 2013 Ducati Hyperstrada and a 2012 BMW S1000RR. I am in the process of selling the BMW, when sold I will try and track down a 690. Checked around the Houston area. no dealer had one.

Hey Newb!

It'll be kinda ironic to have that name several years from now after you've logged 50k miles on your 690 Enduro and your lengthy ride reports and modification advice on this site are universally praised...

But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.  Welcome to 690 Enduro!  There are currently only two 2014 690 Enduro R's in Houston.  I own one and DrBlackbird owns the other.  Talk to Ed at Wild West Motorsports in Katy; last time I spoke with him he said they had another one coming in April/May.  Go there and give him $100 to hold it.  It's refundable if you change your mind.  You'll NEVER find one sitting on the showroom floor in Houston; too few bikes, too much demand.

When you do manage to find one, PM me.  I'm always up for a ride!

Good luck!  DrBlackbird said he was told by the folks at Wild West that only 4 690 Enduro's would make their way to Houston.

I just found a 2014 on cycle trader in Lubbock for $10k.

Might be worth picking a dealer you like and seeing if they would be willing/able to do a trade with another dealer from out of your area.  You may end up paying a bit more for truck freight but you'd have a bike!  And I can attest that it will be worth it!
