GSA Owner Going To Buy 690R in 2016
« on: April 13, 2015, 03:22:28 pm »

Still trying to learn to really ride my '07 R1200 GS Adventure off road.  I only ride off road; soooo, zeroing in on purchasing a 690R in Spring 2016.

In the mean time will soak up the collective wisdom about the bike.

Thanks,

Phil

Welcome to the forum, Phil.  The GS is a sweet ride, but it must be a handful off road.  Personally, I prefer a bike I can pick up by myself!  It comes in handy, 'cause I crash a lot! ;)

Shovel,

Oh I crash a lot also and ride solo so picking it up is not an option but mandatory if I want to get home! ;D

I had a 2011 GSA awesome bike sold it and regretted it ever since.... but my 2014 690 is freaking awesome, it has been nothing but fun since day one. Good luck on your up coming purchase.

I am coming from a Tiger 800 XC. The Tiger was just too top heavy for me. The 690 is a freakin smile machine and I really love it. Just picked mine up yesterday. Unless you burn up a lot of miles on the slab you should really like the 690.
