A new 2014 690 in Katy TX
« on: February 17, 2014, 10:12:55 am »
What a bike this is.......
.

.
Had a plan, I decided to be a "Match Maker"...I introduced and left Two of my bikes alone in the garage one night, one thing led to another and they had a Healthy 300lb Son.....The Parents are: ( 04' KLR 650 + 03' 2 stroke KX500)....The new Katoom is almost as comfortable as the KLR, and by George, almost as powerful as the fire breathing KX500.......The "Best of Both Worlds"
.
Now I'm in the process of dusting off and selling the Parents.....Hadn't rode either one, in quite awhile......

Hey Drblackbird,

Welcome to the forum.  The KX500 is a smokin' powerhouse!  I'm glad to hear the 690 compared favorably.  I wonder if a freer flowing pipe, intake, and map would close that performance gap?

Awesome that you're local to me.  Let's track down the remaining Houston area 690 owners and go riding!

Hey DrBlackbird, I just got my 690 and I'm Katy a lot and looking forward to meeting a few of you guys out that way. I saw you had posted on the Two Wheeled Texan forum in a ride post my friend organized (Silsvee) I think that is his tag over there. Just saying hello.
