Sweet Mods and Accessories / Re: Foot Pegs
« Last post by coarsegoldkid on April 01, 2017, 10:10:38 am »
I installed the CJ Designs footpeg extenders.  It takes a bit of time to get it done.  My procedure may be different than yours.  Removing the stock pegs is simple.  When I tried to mark the exact spot to drill I found that the marks were not visible.  So I spray painted a bit in the areas for the front/rear holes.  When dry I marked them without issue laying them flat down so the cleats of peg were level with cleats of extenders.  Drilling was a multi step process.  A pilot then final hole for the holes.  A bit of back and forth to make sure all was lined up carefully.  For the reinstall on the bike you will find that the spring is stout enough to balance a garage door.  I required a long nose vice grip pliers to squeeze the ends of the spring to partially insert into position then with a screw driver from the bottom into the spring and the pin positioned at the top the spring could be let go.  It still takes a bit of messing with but it was the only way I could do it.  I will try the pegs today.

Anyone had luck getting keys cut at local hardware? If so how about some of the details of the key...ilco? X270? X80? etc.

Has anyone tried the IRC M5B ?  I rode it down in Florida in the mud and sand 2 weekends ago on my KTM 300 and liked it alot.  Rode quiet a few pavement miles and was impressed with the modest wear.

The 2,400 mile update on the Mefos is that they are wearing well and I estimate that they will be done at 4,000.  Tubliss on the rear sealed totally after a couple of weeks from the initial tiny leak of about 1-2 lbs overnight.

Hi,

I just bought a brand new 2016 690 R Enduro, I had to pay before I could ride it :) On my first ride (about an hour ago) I reached my destination and tried to turn around and almost fell of the bike because of this turning circle issue :( can't believe it's still a problem .. also found this: http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/11/13/2014-ktm-690-enduro-r-motorcycle-review-first-ride-photos-specifications

So I just wanted to thank you so much for this guidance and ask one question.. I can see your speedometer.. why is mine obscured by the cables? how did you fix that?

Did you find an answer to the cables obscuring the speedometer?
