I have a set of OEM sidepanels and front fender off my 2012.  Orange and in very good shape with graphics.  I would like to sell them for $130 shipped to lower 48 or trade for same from a 2014 or 2015 (white)

Picked up a 2012 690 and just mounted a Mitas 07 on the rear, with Tubliss insert.  I'll try to remember to report back when I have meaningful mileage and experience.  Gonna go with the TKC 80 front after the MT21 wears out

Thanks.  I have read the attacks on K and N over the years.  I'll let everyone make up their own mind.  I have been very happy with properly oiled K and N filters in off road situations.  I am also very comfortable with oiled foam as used on most dirt bikes.

I went ahead and ordered from Munn using the KTM part numbers for the filter and mounting kit.  Filter is K and N 5179, with filter material in the end cap.  Mounting kit includes seat bracket and battery box--no battery cable extension.  I did not want the EVO ll cam.  Now to work with Tune ECU.

Planning on installing the pod style K and N filter but don't think I'll go with the EVO ll cam in that kit from KTM.  From the Super Moto Junkie site, I have come up with 2 different K and N part numbers.  RX-5179 appears to have a straight mounting arrangement with filter material in the end cap of the filter.  RU-1750 appears to have a slight angle in the mount and no filter material in the filter end cap.  76506915000 is the KTM part number I found for the filter in the EVO ll kit.  Anyone have any info as to which part would be the best fit on a 2012 690 Enduro?  Advantages/disadvantages?  And is the filter in the KTM kit one of these K and N #s or something different?

Thanks!

I am a 990 guy, lurking over here and seriously considering a 690.  Hope you don't mind my comments on this.

I put 10,000 miles on a 150/18 Heidenau K60.  Most of that was on an Alaska trip and much of that was on wet, wetter and raining like hell road.  I never had a wiggle or slip out of that tire.  I don't ride it like a sport bike usually but like to play in the twisties when the opportunity is there.  Finally took that tire off because I was sick of looking at it.  That, and the 150 has a really flat profile that you beging to feel when turning and getting the tire to roll up on the side.  In addition, I never considered the tire to be much of an improvement in the dirt over stock Pirelli Scorps.  The 150 has a tread pattern which, as it wears, leaves a continuous strip down the center, not helping dirt performance when combined with ultra hard rubber and flat profile.

Put a Mefo on to replace the Heidenau.  Somewhat better in the dirt.  Same flat profile.  Much softer rubber.  Doubt I will get 6k miles out of it.  Probably try the Mitas next as the tread pattern is a little more aggressive.

Continental TKCs for the front.  They tend to cup a little from braking and need to be flipped at 3k or so.  I have total confidence in them on the street and they meet my needs for less than extreme dirt riding.

Tires / Re: 120/100x18 tire

I am lurking over her e from the 950/990 Adventure forum.  I see you guys are discussing full knobbies in this thread.  But I am wondering what experience has been(on 690s) with the more street oriented dual sport tires which are popular on the bigger KTMs--Heidenau, Mitas, Mefo?  And on a different not, how about a Pirelli MT 43 trials for the rear?  I know from experience they work very well in the dirt and wear like iron on the street.

My apologies just found the other forum and dual sport tire thread.  I'll take it over there.

Thanks
