Tires / Re: Stock Tires

Not sure if this the place to ask this question, but has anyone used the BAJA-NO-PINCH tool to change tires? I'm thinking of getting one, but not sure what the 690 axle shaft size is (20mm?) http://www.bajanopinch.com/baja-no-pinch-tire-tool/

Welcome!  I traded my Tenere in for a 690r. Lovin' it!

I bought Sweet Cheeks to add some spare gas-carrying capacity, but it turns out it is an amazing seat enhancer (especially with the Airhawk from my Super Tenere on top of it). Feels like a big adventure bike seat,  yet allows me to stand on the pegs unhindered.

This bike vibrates so much, it shook my flatlands skid plate loose after just three 150 miles rides.  My mirrors vibrate so much,  my wife is envious!  Still, once on the dirt, I'm the one doing all the grinning 8-)

I couldn't find the item on their website.  It's surprising that ktmtwins is selling something that the manufacturer hasn't announced.

So what is the verdict on the Rumbux? I'm particularly interested in the weight.

Sweet Mods and Accessories / Re: Madstad Wind Screen
« on: June 22, 2015, 12:00:38 pm »
I just installed the Madstad screen and am ambivalent about it. It is a perfect windbreaker under 67-70 mph,  with virtually no helmet turbulence (I am 5'10), so it's great for a longer distance adventure ride.  My biggest concern is the severe instability it causes over 70…  the steering suddenly starts to wobble very aggressively and I have to drop down to 62 mph to regain stability (I'm on the pre-installed knobbies,  and riding the L.A. freeways which have the rain lines,  which don't cause much wobble normally until I get to 85mph without the screen and on knobbies) . It is also quite tall, and may be vulnerable in a rough spill off-road. I will be taking it off for local trips to the trails (usually 1hr freeway rides for me) as I like travelling at 75-85 in frequent bursts,  and can't deal with the wicked wobble that this screen induces.
It does an excellent job of blocking 90 of the air pressure at all speeds.  That will be great for commuters cruising under 70 daily,  or long distance adventure riders seeking relief from air pressure and willing to stay under 65 when on knobbies. I doubt the wobble would be as prevalent if on 17 inch supermoto wheels.

The Madstad site seems to only have a version for the 690 Duke ( http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.11244/.f ). Is that the one you purchased, and does it fit easily on the 690 Enduro R?
