Oooooo yeahhh I got the 690 maniac bad! (I have a 14' 690) Just goin on 43 years old & yep, feel 18 again every time I fire her up. The FMF Powercore makes this girl sound beastly & begging for a whipping every time on get on. Really surprised I got thru the summer with only one ticket.. "riding wheelie across 4 lanes of traffic" He wrote it out on the ticket in case I wanted to take it to court! The sheriff called it exhibition & told me I could get hurt. I called it fun & told him I could ride a wheelie way more than 4 lanes!! He wasn't impressed. Well what he said is kinda true as I've had a couple small wrecks this year.. My first "get off"  was a 45 mph high side in a grassy ditch early this spring. Turns out only the top inch or so of the grass was thawed out.. 2 broken ribs & a mild concussion.. O yeah & a pair of mirrors. Then late this summer I **** an ankle riding a sand pit with a buddy. I thought "dude I could so nail this on my old 250.." It was a sweet jump off a small dirt pile but I got a bit crossed up in the air & crunch.. **** happens when your a maniac. I'm still nursing a messed up ankle but getting in some great fall riding too. Yeah bud your not the only one this bike makes a maniac of!!

I got the R&G covers installed today. Left side went on no problem but the right side I had to trim off a small piece by the brake pedal so it wouldn't bind. The covers look good & provide a lot more coverage then any others I've seen for the 690. Not sure how tough they are but I will find out I'm sure. Katy has terrible balance & is always falling down!

Has anyone installed a set of these yet on a 2014 690? I am getting binding of the brake pedal. R&G tec guy says they have many installed with no problems. I had a small crash that bent my brake pedal.. could that have bent the frame where the brake pedal mounts?

Yeah the 690 needs to have something on there to protect from that brake pedal. Why wouldn't they put a pivot on the pedal tip? The foot pegs & shifter do.. I ordered the R&G covers for both sides but haven't got them yet.

I was sure I would like the bike even though I had never rode one. Some things you just know right? Weeks of youtube & reading specs.. well, you know.. Wel, Valentines day & 10 G's later I'm skidding home with the bike in tow & a full blown North Dakota blizzard trying to put me in the ditch. Could have been a beautiful spring day for all I cared. Stupid grin on my face & all.. I didn't get the bike with plans on a ton of miles but just to enjoy seeing some back country. Well that led me to not quit 11k miles so far this year. Katy (yes I named my KTM 690 Katy, dont judge me!) & I have been from the Black Hills of SD to northern Michigan this year. We have been rained on for days in the Hills & stuck in red clay in northern Wisconsin. We've had crashes in the deep woods of Michigan & I believed all was lost.. She always brought me home. I now love this bike. I'm pretty sure she loves me too.  LOL! I hope to get a couple more rides before the white closes in again. I live in NE SD so if anybody wants to get together for a ride let me know! I will have to make sure its ok with Katy first..

Hi there. I would like to buy the brake pedal. Looks to be the same part number used on the 2014 models. Let me know how you would like to be paid. Thanks, Brian.
