Anyone from here going? It sounds like we’re going to have 7 690’s from the St. Louis area going. I’ve been the last 2 years and it’s a blast.http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/slap-2016-may-20-22-byrds-adventure-center-in-ozark-ar.1115760/

Story-Time / UTBDR
« on: November 22, 2015, 09:02:03 am »
A bunch of us did the Utah BDR in early Sept. I finally have edited all my video and uploaded all my pics. What an awesome trip. This was my first time riding for more than a weekend trip and what a beautiful place to do it. 7 days and 1200 miles. we made it to the Wyoming boarder but time didn’t allow us to see the Idaho border. WORK SUCKS. I can’t wait to tackle another BDR next year.

690 Pics / a day in the woods
« on: April 18, 2015, 06:44:11 am »
It was such a nice day yesterday and a fellow 690 ride and I both had off. We had to take advantage of it. it amazes me that I only did 107 miles and had more fun than when I used to do 500 miles of twists on the sport bikes. the more and more I get to ride this thing the more I love it.

Racks & Luggage / home made rack
« on: January 27, 2015, 05:03:11 pm »
I decided I had nothing better to do so I built my own rack. I’m not sure what soft bags I’m going to get just yet so I just spray bombed it. Once I decide I’ll add some anchor points then get it powder coated.

Story-Time / new years day ride.
« on: January 02, 2015, 01:21:22 pm »
What started out as plans for a long day of gravel and dirt road on ride big bikes turned into a 67 mile single track ride on the dirt bikes. Not wanting to miss out and with my 450 being down right now. I decided to see how the 690 would do. It did a great job but boy am I out of shape. Here’s a little video for ya hope you enjoy. Oh and it gets hind of comical at the :57 sec. mark [url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20nBy6Ff8Tw/url]

Introductions / new to Ktm
« on: November 26, 2014, 07:49:06 am »
I've been riding dirt bikes for 35 years. I got into sport bikes and road racing in my 20s and continued to ride them until 2013 when I plated my CRF 450x and road on my first ADV ride. I bought a KLR 650 to see if I really liked it as much as I did on that first ride and did even though every time I went out I broke something. So I bought a Triumph 800xc and found it to be just a little to big for some of the trails we end up on. That led me to buying my first KTM, the 690. So far I'm loving  it all 499 miles I have on it. that was done in one weekend. Work has been a ****. I'm hoping to get out on it a lot more now. hear is a little video since I can't figure out how to post pics.

I saw someone post this on facebook and thought I'd share. I will be doing this soon. Thanks Joe.

Just want to share some info with everyone that took me a good amount if time to find out ... Your 690 fan kicks on when your rad temp gets to 221 F . In my option and many others it should kick on earlier. Ktmtwins sells and upgraded thermostat switch that kicks fan on at 190 F and they sell a ton. Their switch it 55$ + shipping . Now If you go to any advanced auto you can get the same switch with a LIFETIME warranty for 36$ and if you order it threw their website for store pick up you get an additional 20% off with the code P20. My local store had one in stock so it was way more convenient to have it right away also
