Title: Moving from Denver to Texas
Post by: kenfrazier on May 03, 2017, 10:28:19 am
I just found this site and since I'm a 2015 KTM 690 owner/fan, I thought I'd register and check it out. I'm moving from Denver Colorado to Sleepy Georgetown Texas next month and I look forward to a 12 month riding season and some Tex Mex and BBQ. I know I'll miss the Rockies and the drastic elevation and temp changes but I'll adapt. The first thing I'm going to enjoy is the free horsepower that all my vehicles will gain from the lower elevation. I hope to meet up with other Adventure riders down there and explore the Texas hill country. If you are one, let me know. Thanks

Hey Ken,

I'm in the opposite situation--I moved from swampy Houston to glorious Utah.  Hill country has some good rides.  Check out Uncles Big Bend Adventure ride...it's the most fun I had on my bike in Texas.

Howdy Mr Rusty,
I'll check out the Big Bend ride and others. You'll like Utah with Moab and the Green River areas to roam. I took my 690 in May of '16 to Green River and rode with a pack of 30 something experts. Giant rock slabs, sand, creeks and lots of scenery. Moab is like being on the moon and great. Drop your counter sprocket a tooth or two first. I've been riding all the great back country roads around Travis Lake on my KTM 1190 and am ready to find some dirt for my 690 that is getting bored in the garage. Enjoy the desert and fill up your camel back.
