When replacing the coolant/antifreeze (what ever you decide to call it) - what is everyone replacing it with?
I used to use Engine Ice on my DRZ400 - but last time I was at the KTM dealer, they suggested Maxima Coolanol. Thoughts?
Tips on flushing the old coolant?

I have leftover Evans from putting it in my XR650R. Thinking of using it when the time comes to switch. On the XR I just drained it, filled with H2O, drained it again and then filled with Evans and idled the bike with the cap off for about 15 minutes. Theory is all the water boils off and you're left with just Evans. It has worked flawlessly in the XR.

I put Engine Ice in mine in the spring when I changes the thermostat. It runs much cooler.

I have a bottle of Evans waiting to go into both my 690 and my 990 as soon as I get around to it. Will also try it in my Gas Gas 321. I figure if it's good enough for Jay Leno...;-)

I'm an Engine Ice customer. Only downside: it stinks like all hell when it boils over :P

Yep, Engine Ice here too, since I also have a 2006 300XCW I know that smell!

What is the volume of fluid in the cooling system for the 690? I was thinking of just flushing with the same fluid I change to. I'll use the ZipTy second generation fluid I have on the shelf, used the first gen in our Husky 511 and 310 with zero boil over issues. Shouldn't cost too much in fluid and I've seen in the forums where not all of the new fluids take well to water(h2o) contamination.
