Title: Gas tank inlet filter?
Post by: Guymcfly on April 08, 2015, 09:29:28 am
Has anybody come across 1 of these that works effectively with our bike of choice? I've yet to come across anything myself but there's gotta be something out there surely?

If you are talking about the filter bag that goes under the filler cap, there isn't any thing which will work with the stock cap.  You have to buy the KTM Twins, http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktt690-gc-2014, or CJ Designs, http://www.cjdesignsllc.com/products/billet-fuel-filler-neck-ktm-690-990-smt/, conversions in order to use the filter bag.

I have the KTM Twins filler cap and filter sock - which is actually made by Twinair.
Concept is great, but due to the design of the 690 tanks, it sucks trying to fill through the sock filter.  I have only had to fill once so far, but hoping it will be easier going forward.

Has anyone found a filter sock that works within the Safari tank on the 690?

Doesn't make much sense to filter one tank and not both?

I have the Rally Raid inlet. I'm using gas from cans whenever I get the chance because it gives me the opportunity to filter it properly, but it's when I'm way out on the road somewhere, you got to wonder if 30 years of crud is coming thru the pump.
Be handy to have a decent filter on the inlet for this reason.

I have the CJDESIGNS with the sock filter on the Filler cap. Works good, much better than stock, but with the sock type filter it takes a little while to fill the tank

It is a searchable thing.
