Title: Rear Rack
Post by: seabeegt on February 28, 2014, 11:44:32 am
Found this on eBay for about $100. Very well made. CnC'd and powdercoated. Installation instructions sucked, but whatever. Holds my Kriega US-20 very well. And it turns out, this rack can be used for the RotoPax setup.

Might get some more Kriega softbags and a RotoPax 2.0 gal cube. I think it'll fit nicely. Just have to do the subframe bolt upgrade first.

Where on ebay?  I like it's long platform.

Yeah, I like it, I probably get that one.  I noticed that you can get it direct from the manufacturer for about the same price at http://nomadic-racks.com/store#!/~/product/category=976076&id=26154096

I like your solution so much I've ordered the rack, and the Krega US20 to go with it; I'll let you know how it goes!

Right on dude. Bag setup works great for commuting. And YES, a Kriega US-20 will hold a 24 rack of Natty Light.  8)

I got the Kriega bag, still waiting the rack.  I got an email today (after I asked about it) and they say I should have it by Friday and that they were having inventory issues...

Just remember when installing not to throw the rack through the damn wall (instructions suck!) U gotta attach the smaller plate on the underside very loosely to the main plate. Then ya attach the combo to the actual bike. Finally u snug everything evenly. Don't forget yer antisieze, I always had rust from those bolts before.   :P

Has anyone tried this setup with the rotopax? I'm nervous about how close the exhaust is too it.

Cliff, here is a picture of a one gallon rotopax mounted to the Nomadic rack.  You don't need to worry about it getting melted by the exhaust.  Only your turn signal.

It's fine with the cube on the rack. Nothing melts. The mounting bracket is a PIA to unbolt and remount, so I just leave my cube on there full time now. I just don't load it down with fuel if I'm riding locally.
