Garmin Monterra GPS mounting and wiring

1) Get a good waterproof electrical connector, I used the 'NEW Yiding 5 Kit 2 Pin Way Car Waterproof Electrical Connector Plug with Wire' that I found on ebay at http://www.ebay.com/itm/351192178070.  You need more than one so that you can make a plug for when the GPS is not connected.

2) Find the auxiliary 2 (ACC 2) connector behind the headlight - just remove the two bolts on the side the hold the cable clips on.  ACC 1 is always on, ACC 2 is only on when the bike is one.  The red is hot and the black is ground (actually black with a yellow tracer).

3)  Tie-wrap the female end of the plug to the bike fork - use another male end as a waterproof plug.

4) Solder the GPM mount wire to the male end of the plug and apply an insulator; I used shrink-wrap.

You don't need the yellow or blue wire to power the GPS, so I just bent those back under the shrink-wrap.  I also cut out the fuse since the circuit is fused in the fuse box.  I did keep the sound connection though I plan to use bluetooth; just in case I need it later.
