Does Foam in Skidpan Quiet Bike?
« on: June 10, 2015, 09:47:24 pm »
Anybody use foam or something else in their aluminum skidpan under the motor to quiet the bike?  Does it work? Worth the effort?  What material did you use.

Thanks.

FWIW, my flatland skidplate came with a semi-hard rubber that contacts the bottom of the case. Absolutely zero noise.

I swear I noticed a difference with my Flatland.  It definitely seemed more knocky sounding to me.

I did use foam on my KLX450r skid and it seemed to deaden some of the sound.  I just mostly wanted to fill the space so I wouldn't have 80 pounds of mud in there  :D

Doesn't seem necessary with the 690.
