Bike Stands
« on: April 17, 2014, 09:30:47 am »
Got my new stands in the other day. Went with Pitbull Racing cuz they're made in the US of A!  8)

Front is the Hybrid Forklift Stand #F0100-100

Rear is SS stand #F0028-000

They're real sturdy. I grabbed on to the seat and was shoving it hard and it wasn't coming loose. The front is a little tricky to get lined up correctly. Only downside to the front is the axle can't be pulled while the stand is on. No biggie, I'll just put my little square stand underneath the bash plate and I'll be able to take off the front wheel. $300 of quality equipment.

Can you not use the typical lift style stand that goes under the engine (middle of bike)?  Or is that not possible since there is no 'frame' there, just engine?

I was using one before I got these stands, but if you're really wrenching on the bike it feels unstable. Also, since I've got 17's on now, I can't fit either of my two basic stands w/o first lifting the rear end up a bit with a jack. Screw that  :P
