Chain Guide
« on: March 11, 2014, 08:21:53 pm »
So I converted my 08 690 Enduro to supermoto recently and I was worried about natural chain rub from fitment of a 160 wide rear. For assurance I fitted an upper chain guide from an 06 690 SMC.

When I fitted and tried it the first time, it rubbed like mad. The poly block took a hell of a beating after the first two rides, so I decided to get it re-machined. Now it fits like a glove.
Shay with tha guage and Nilla with tha nine.... word to your mutha.

I have my swiss army knife 690e running in scout mode.  K60 50/50 tires and a 16t front sprocket.  Totally bad.  Totally fast.  Top speed 115mph. Time to change it back to mostly dirt mode:  20 minutes with a built up wheel set and 15t front sprocket.  Bwaaaaaa.  I'll be ordering a 14t sprocket dedicated to Fardrifter before the sun sets today.

As always, try to remember:  I'm out there.
