I know this is covered elsewhere ad nauseum but wanted to get this group's opinion.... I'm computer literate & understand the basics of EFI but must admit the whole EFI mapping issue has me totally confused. From software to hardware to accomplish re-mapping, I find it difficult to follow.
So, is there a resource to educate myself about the basics of EFI mapping & the (KTM?) tools to do so?
My purpose in asking is because I'd like to replace the nuclear reactor on my upcoming 2014 690R with an aftermarket slip-on but know the fuel mixture will be off. And, with the already stock lean settings, I'm afraid NOT to re-map if a new exhaust is fitted.
Any thoughts about EFI mapping sources that a BEGINNER can follow?
Many thanks in advance to the forum. At least here I won't get a butt-chew for posting this in the wrong thread!
