a day in the woods
« on: April 18, 2015, 06:44:11 am »
It was such a nice day yesterday and a fellow 690 ride and I both had off. We had to take advantage of it. it amazes me that I only did 107 miles and had more fun than when I used to do 500 miles of twists on the sport bikes. the more and more I get to ride this thing the more I love it.

Fun Video. A great choice of day off activity. As a past resident of St. Louis I must mention the St. Joe riding area. Sorry if this is old news. Heck, might be where your vid is from. Anyhow, if you haven't, check it out. I had many of quality rides there.

Not sure how long it's been since you've been to St. Joes but there is no more single track unless you consider trails wide enough for sided by sides singal track. That and the amount of them and 4 wheelers running around in any direction makes it a little less fun. We rode all day and exempt for when we hit the pavement to get lunch and gas we never saw another soul. If you ever come back and want to ride hot me up.

Dang it! Definitely been awhile. How things change. Anyhow, love it that you had the woods to yourself. If I swing through I will most certainly look you up.

Nice video, thanks for sharing! If you don't mind, what camera are you using and what do you think about it? I'm in the market for a non-go pro helmet solution and looking for input. Thanks in advanced.

I have the Contour +2. My only complaint about it is the battery life. I get about 4 hours out of it. A friend just got the Garmin "one with out the gps”. The battery lasts twice as long. As far as video quality he’s only uploaded one video and I thought it was about the same quality, but I’m not filming on the highest quality because the battery dies even quicker. I also don’t use the GPS thats on it because that helps drain the battery too.
